The West Village has a new neighbor; a French neighbor to be precise. Jeanne and Gaston located at 212 West 14th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenue has opened in December 2011.
Owner and Maître Cuisinier de France (France Master Chef), Claude Godard, third generation of chefs is continuing and keeping a generation’s long tradition of Bourguignon style of cooking.
The restaurant is named after his grandparents, Jeanne, his grandmother and Gaston, his grandfather. Jeanne & Gaston is not a typical French Bistro, the restaurant prepares cuisine that is pleasing to one’s palate, showcases an esthetic presentation, and one’s money is well spent at this eatery.
Diners can enjoy the wonderful cuisine in the restaurant’s dining hall that has a modern ambiance with a touch of classic French influence, or at the garden patio during the summer months, all the while retaining its casual and classy atmosphere, one of the most beautiful outdoor dining in the city.
The cuisine is inspired by classic recipes of Gaston Godard and brought to you with a modern twist coming from the long training that Claude Godard acquired along renowned Chefs like his father, Alain Dutournier, Jean-Pierre Vigato, Restaurant Lasserre and many others.
For a casual Dinner, wonderful Brunch, business Lunch or for a cocktail around the bar, Jeanne & Gaston is the perfect place to experience a delightful meal with your family or friends.
The unique outdoor patio will make you forget you are in the middle of the big apple.
Jeanne & Gaston is available for Private Parties.
